Happy Easter!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Here I am relaxing in the lovely warm weather we've been having lately amongst a host of golden daffodils (as Wordsworth would have said).

These daffodils were the biggest I'd ever seen, in fact as you can see I almost got hidden by them being a small cat like I am.

I can't wait until Easter tomorrow, to see how many eggs I get. The only problem is that usually because I'm in a rush to eat them all, all the sticky chocolate gets stuck to my fur, which makes that all messy, and then that results in me usually having to be washed. Which is the worst thing ever! I absolutely hate having to be washed, I try to avoid it by running away and hiding (up the chimney I must add) or if I get caught, I pin my legs to the sides of the bath so they can't force me in.

Anyway, enough of me ranting, I'm going to try and be a good little cat this time and take care and not eat them all at once.

Of course though, Eggs and chocolate aren't the real reason for easter. The most important figure is (although some would argue The Easter Bunny) is Jesus Christ.

So whether you are religious or not, please take some time out over this weekend and think about the real meaning behind this holiday.

Final Torquay Pictures

Hello again!

I was tidying up my room the other day, and I happened to come across some photos from my trip to Torquay last year that I never posted.

So here they are...

The picture above is when Simon showed me how to play the game Croquet. Unfortunately for me, there wasn't any sticks my size, so I had to cope the best as my little self could with the giant stick. In the end I had to sit out and watch because I couldn't get the stick between my little legs to hit the ball with. Poor little me :(

Anyway, later the same night, we discovered on our evening walk, this little forest with bright coloured lights shining.

Here's me sitting up in a tree that I couldn't resist climbing.

Unfortunately, being a cat, I forgot how to come down again, so there I was mewing and get upset stuck up in a tree until Simon calmly helped me down and told me 'Not to be so silly.' Honestly! These humans don't know what it's like to be a cat!!!

This picture which Simon took, he reckons makes me look like The Incredible Hulk, I replied back The Incredible Kitten more like!!!

Anyway, there we have, finally you've seen all my pics of Torquay.

Hopefully I won't leave it so long before posting again. You will soon see why life has been hectic for me lately very soon!!!

Tom's Cinema Trip

Hello there!

It's times like this where I'm glad I started my blog because I can express my feelings, and sometimes even though I am quite a small kitten, my feelings are big - huge in fact!

I went to see the film Miss Potter at the local cinema recently. At first I nearly didn't get in because I am small the person on the counter started to serve the person behind me, until I shouted up 'Oi! Down here!' and the person looked down and discovered me. Luckily, Simon was about to help in my time of need.
So after getting our tickets, we went to buy our snacks. I got a kids sized popcorn and Simon got a regular.
Then it was time to get our seats.

I climbed up into my seat, but as I got settled, the seat began to rise up. I was confused, never had something like this happen before. Simon noticed and told me that I must have been quite light in weight so that's why the seat rose up. So he kept his leg on the corner to keep it down.
As the film started, I reached into my popcorn box to get the last pieces and you know what should happen? I fell in!
So there I was with my little paws kicking about whilst the rest of me was inside the box getting covered in buttery goo.

Simon had to pull me out, and whilst the film was still starting, (the opening credits were still going at this point) I licked off the butter and got settled.

The point of this whole blog and what infuriated me the most (it made my fur stand up on end) was the fact that I, Tom Kitten, one of the most famous kittens ever, didn't get a mention in the movie. Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck did, but not me - poor old me. You can't imagine how upset I felt, after being so excited about the film, to get no mention in it. It just isn't on.

Simon got quite concerned for me because I ended up sulking for a couple of days afterwards and wouldn't eat anything. He cheered me up however by getting me to watch the animated version of my story that was done several years ago.

Anyway, I've got some exciting news that I can't wait to tell you. But you'll have to wait until my next blog.

Hello fans!

Hope you all had a good new year! I know I did.

I'm just posting this quickly to let you know that everything's ok, I've just been a little busy as it is mating season for us cats at the moment. In my next blog I will introduce you to someone who is very dear to my heart at the moment.

Christmas Traditions

Hmm, I wonder where today's number is?

Today, as part of my Christmas festivities, I thought I would share some Christmas traditions that take place in our house.

First of all, as you can see above that is my advent calendar. I didn't want any of those ordinary pet advent calendars. I love chocolate, I reckon it's through living with Simon that has sent me choccy crazy!! I love the stuff, so naturally I can't wait until I can open my calendar every day. In this Doctor Who calendar you get either a dalek or a TARDIS on the chocolate, and some days you get little gifts too!!! YAYYYY!!!

Here's me with a Christingle that I have made. A Christingle is a special symbol seen at Advent which reminds us of the love of Jesus. For you fact fans out there, the orange represents the world, the red ribbon represents the blood of Jesus, the fruit and sweets are supposed to be the fruit of the earth and the four seasons, plus the lighted candle represents Christ, the light of the world.

Hope no one's looking so I can have a quick nibble of the sweets!!!

O Christmas Tree...

Merry Christmas Bloggers!!!

Tom here to wish you a merry christmas. Thought it was high time I showed you some of my preparations for Christmas which is - shock horror, only three days away! I am so excited about it all, Simon has almost had to ground me several times, through all the rushing up the chimmy to see if there's any sign of Santa, and scrambling around the christmas tree!!

The picture above was taken at the beginning of the month when Simon was decorating his christmas tree. For some reason though, us cats seem to love trees, most often we tend to scramble high up and then realise we can't get down again. However being an intellectual cat like I am, things like that are beneath me. Although I do think Simon did get annoyed from constantly sitting in the tree when he was trying to decorate it.

He threatened at one point that he would stick me on the top of the tree instead of the star if I wasn't careful. So then, I scrambled down the tree and began helping him.

And here is the result. Good isn't it?

Tom's Living Coasts Photo Album

So here I am fellow bloggers, armed with my digital camera and ready to take photos. As mentioned in my blog below about my trip to Living Coasts I said that I took loads of photos of the things me and Simon saw there!

I've looked through all my photos I took and decided to pick out the best to show you. So here they are below...

This was the first exhibit - the penguins. Had to be careful here as they were allowed to roam amongst the public, and have been occasionally known to bite people, so I quickly took my photo and moved on!

I took this as I approached the seal enclosure, here you can see the overview of one area of Living Coasts. I had to get Simon to lift me up so I could get a good view in taking this photo, otherwise being small like I am I would have only got a picture of the fence with some bushes.

Here's a picture of some cute seals that liked to play around on this rock. Apparently they are only babies and are brother and sister. I never knew, before I visited here that seals could honk as loud as these did, they certainly loved their food too!

This almost concludes my Living Coasts Adventure, but to end off the day, I managed to get my photo taken with two new friends I made on my visit...

I'm almost coming to the end of my Torquay trip, but I still have a few more photos to share with you yet!

Tom meets Pudsey

Yes! Last Friday, I got to catch up with one of my celebrity friends. Pudsey Bear himself!!! He travelling from his hometown - Pudsey, where else? to London for rehearsals with Sir Terry for that evening's Children In Need show, so I got to catch up with him and see how things are going!

The smaller Pudsey in the picture is one of his other many fans that had seen him arriving so wanted to meet his hero! You should have seen his little estatic face! It was a picture!

Tom's Living Coasts Adventure!

Hello my furry friends!!

Tom here once again, I've been busy on my travels lately to haven't had much chance to post about all my exciting adventures. But anyway, here we are back when I visited Torquay during the summer.

The photo above shows me outside a place called Living Coasts, which Simon had told me before we went was were loads of sea birds and animals lived. He told me that I had better be on my best behaviour because us cats are rather fond of birds so to speak, and due to the fact the place was in the open air (apart from a huge net covering it) he thought I might get a bit too excited and start chasing after them.

After we paid to go in, there was a long maze of corridors to go through before getting to the first exhibit, I had nearly exhausted my little legs trying to keep up with Simon before we had reached the start of the place.

In the first area, it was inside a building which told you all about Living Coasts and the sort of things we would see there. There was a chance to see things like puffins and seals when they dived under water. I kept a look out but as it was a warm day most of the creatures were outside.

But I kept my watchful eye, just in case!

Once we got outside, I got my brand new digital camera ready to take some photos.

It was very exciting seeing all the different creatures. I couldn't stay long with some of the birds like the penguins because they were allowed to roam about amongst the public and apparently they could get a little nasty! However, I managed to take a lot of pictures with my camera, of which I post some to show you over the weekend, as this blog thing doesn't like it when you try to add more than three pictures at a time.

Tom's Harvest

Look at all that yummy food above!!!

It's not all for me unfortunately. It's Harvest Festival at the church where Simon goes, and so I tagged along to see what it was all about. Apparently people donate food to be shared amongst the local community which I find is quite nice.

So I had an explore and see what was in all the boxes before they were taken away to be distributed.

And then afterwards I got introduced to Rev Dave, who is the minister for the church, so I got a hug from him before he introduced me to the baby in the picture who apparently had just survived having meningitis which really really surprised me!!!

Finally, apologies for again there being a long time between posts but Simon's been busy still with college work, or so he says. He told me he was down town last week apparently doing filming for this music video he's making. He said that he had just set up the camera on the tripod and stuff when the heavens opened and he said he and his friend nearly got drowned in all the rain. He did look a mess when he returned so it must have been true. How my little tummy rippled with laughter though. I don't think he was very amused about it though.

Anyway, according to Simon he finishes for half-term tomorrow, lucky thing having 12 days off! But he says he'll spend more time helping me with my blog so expect to see a lot more of my blog next as I continue telling you about my adventures in Torquay, you'll get to see all the photos I took with my digital camera at a sea world place where there's seals and penguins and stuff. So tune in for that!!

Reasons To Celebrate - Part Two

Hello once again fellow bloggers!

Tom here once again. I've managed to convince Simon away from his huuuuggggeeee amount of college work which prevented him from helping me with my blog the past week. He's apparently planning to film a music video project with some friends of his. I'm a bit miffed though because he hasn't included me in the video! Grrr.

Anyway, that wasn't the point of this blog. The point is the second reason to celebrate. As you can see in the picture above, there's me, and Simon and the awe and wonderment that is CAKE!

This was because last Wednesday, Simon reached a milestone in his life - he became 18! So he's now a man! I keep teasing him about him being old but I don't think he likes it much! I think he's trying to get back at me though by gloating about all the things he can do now that I can't do. It's not fair, I've got to wait another 8 years until I'm as old as he is!

Anyway, we had fun celebrating his birthday. He told me all the exciting things that happened to him at college, including having his first legal drink. Note to self - never try lager!

In the evening we cut the cake and I had a piece of it but it was very messy and ended up with very sticky paws.

Simon also opened the champagne bottle that we won while in Torquay, and I was allowed to try some. Here's a pic of me with the champagne.

And here's me giving it a sniff before I tasted it. I'm not sure if I liked it.

But I think I had a little bit too much!

Simon wasn't the only one to get presents on his birthday though, because a nice couple that Simon knows had seen my blog and had brought me a lovely rucksack which I can take with me on all my adventures.

Reasons To Celebrate - Part One

Hello!

Only got time for a small post this time, as I'm busy rushing around as fast as my little legs will carry me, as I'm a very hectic kitten at the moment.

Anyway, as the title says - Reasons to Celebrate.
In the hotel where Simon and I stayed, every day at 3pm they did a General Knowledge quiz with chances to win prizes.
So naturally being the intellectuals we are, we went down to have a try, and believe it or not - we won! Yahooooooo!!! As a Eurovision group would sing - WE ARE THE WINNERS! WE ARE THE WINNERS!!!

And we won a certificate and a bottle of champagne, here's a picture of me with the champagne.

I wanted to have a glass of it, but Simon said no as he reckons I'm too young to drink! But he said he'll save for later and might let me have a taste another time!

The bottle was too heavy for me to lift, and unfortunately it well on top of me, but the way I fell backwards, it looks as if I was drunk anyway, so I'm going to claim from now on that I did drink while on holiday - so there!

Well, that's all I've time to write this time, I need to go and wrap a present, as it's a special occasion here in a couple of days. So come back and log on later in the week and I'll tell you all about it!

Trip to the beach

Hello again!

It's me again! When I left off my blog last time, I had just arrived in Torquay and had unpacked and explored the hotel.
Well, the following day after a good long catnap I was taken to the beach, and as you can see in the picture above, there I am relaxing on the beach. I had to by some sunglasses because it was such a hot day, but they didn't have my size so I had to buy the best I could. I think they might have been a bit too big!

What was good was, the area of the beach we were in there were no dogs allowed which was good because I wouldn't have wanted a nasty dog chasing after me!

There were quite a few different things to do around the beach like...

Riding in a pedalo!

Then I discovered how much fun you can have hiding in Simon's rucksack! Eeeee!!

Afterwards I went explored the beach and did a bit of climbing over rocks, but didn't go too far as there was some quite big holes and I thought I might fall down one if I wasn't careful!

Whilst exploring the beach, I discovered a seasnail which I felt sorry for, as it was going so slowly down to the sea. I just had to pick it up in my paws and carry it down to the sea, even though it was very slimy and slippery. Needless to say, I trotted down with the seasnail as fast my little legs would carry me.

I let it go and just as it was setting off on it's travels, as huge wave came along (of which I narrowly avoided I must add!) and washed the poor thing back up on the beach. Oh well, I suppose it's life to a seasnail.

Soon, it was time to go back to the hotel for the evening meal, but not before I had one last look at the sea!

My arrival in Torquay!

Hello friends!

Me again! I got Simon to put the photos from our expodition to Torquay this morning so I can start telling you about it on my new blog! The photos are brilliant so I can't wait to show them.

As Julie Andrews once said 'Let's start at the very beginning, because that is a very good place to start!' (See, I'm an intellectual kitten!)

So first of all, we arrived at our hotel at about 2pm in the afternoon, we checked and went to find our room. My goodness, it took us ages! We had to go through corridor after corridor to find it, I thought they were going to kick out the back of the hotel! No wonder my little legs were exhausted when we got to the room.

It was quite big for a small kitten of my size! Naturally, the first task was find the right bed for sleeping in during my stay. So in turn I tried out each of the bedsThe first one was too big!

The second bed was medium sized but still too big for me.

The third bed was a bunk bed, and it was just the right size for me!

After testing out the beds, it was time to unpack my suitcase. I have lots of clothes to wear. They're all in my favourite colour - blue.

Before Simon had finished packing, I had scampered off to explore the hotel, I was dying to use the swimming pool, but I couldn't take any photos there due to some silly cat protection act or something like that.

Introduction

Hello There!

My name is Tom Kitten, although I expect you probably knew that already! Anyway, I've just finished being taught how to use the internet by my friend Simon. I still need to get to grips with the keyboard though as sometimes my paws hit two keys instead of one sometimes.

I thought to myself now that I understand computers and stuff, what shall I do, and I thought this blogging sort of thing seems to be quite popular so I thought to myself that I would try and make a blog, so with help from Simon, here's the result. My very own bit of space on the world wide web. You can't imagine how pleased I am, I feel like jumping up and down in excitement about it all.

The picture you see above is of me when I went to visit Hilltop, in the Lake District. The house used to belong to a very nice lady called Beatrix Potter, who wrote my biography. You may have read it. There's a picture of it on the right. The house is now owned by The National Trust and it was good seeing all the places in the house and nearby from when I visited her before.

My friend Simon takes me to lots of places, I've travelled all around the world, to places including Canada, Austria and France too, but unfortunately I didn't have my camera at the time so couldn't take any photos.

However, I have a brand new digital camera, and with Simon's help I took photos on our recent expodition to Torquay in South Devon, so soon I shall be getting Simon to help me put them on here for you all to see.

I can't think of anything else to write for now, but please come back and visit this page again, as you never know - I might be let loose somewhere near you!
